I’m an Army veteran and proud of it. So, with this month being Military Appreciation Month I thought I would share one of my favorite military and veteran traveling DEALS!
No, IT IS NOT A SCAM.
This, sadly, is the question I’m met with EVERY time I talk to a fellow veteran or service member about AFVC (they get scammed a lot ). Sad, eh!
Disclosure: There are some affiliate links below, which simply means if you purchase I receive small compensation to keep this blog running.
Armed Forces Vacation Club (AFVC) is a space available travel club that is FREE (I really mean free, not “kinda” free) that offers military members worldwide access to over 200,000 resort accommodations in over 100 countries in a wide range of unit sizes from studio to two and three bedroom villas for as low as $349 for 7 nights!
Armed Forces Vacation Club (AFVC) offers all eligible members of the U.S. military vacations at an affordable price. Explore all of our rental options in destinations around the world, including our popular $349 weeklong Space-A stays. Free membership is one small way we thank you for your service.
I first learned about AFVC when my sister was getting married in Cancun at Moon Palace Resort and Golf Spa. One day I was casually telling 2 co-workers (also Veterans) about how much the trip to Cancun had cost us ($3024 had already been paid for my husband and I), when one of them said “Have you heard about AFVC?”. Honestly, I laughed it off. He said “No, I’m serious, it’s amazing, my wife and I use it to go to Hawaii every summer”. Still, I never imaged there was a chance in heck the 5 star, ridiculously overpriced all-inclusive was going to be included as an option through this random website he introduced me to.
Space-A, also known as Space Available, is a favorite among members for its fixed pricing of $349* per week (that’s less than $50 per night!). Space-A resorts often offer more space and amenities than typical hotel rooms so you can spread out, relax and enjoy your stay! Another benefit of Space-A is that resorts are priced per unit rather than per person. So whether it’s just you and your significant other or a crew of 6, you’d be hard pressed to find a better vacation discount anywhere.
On my lunch break I jumped on the AFVC website out of curiosity, and OMGosh, there it was, the EXACT resort my sister was getting married at …AND….the SAME room we had already booked and paid for was only going to cost us $1448.
THAT’S A SAVINGS OF $1576!
With no time wasted I booked a new reservation through AFVC’s website, then got on the horn and cancelled our existing reservations. This happened so fast and I couldn’t believe it! How in the world had I NOT known about this? I’ve shared AFVC with many, many people over the years and I find they ALSO don’t know about it.
THIS WEBSITE IS THE REAL DEAL, YA’LL! Before you book your next vacation make sure you check the resorts available on their website, you’ll be blown away! Membership is free to all eligible U.S. military, including active duty, reserve, guard, veterans and retirees.
Here’s some other ways I get killer vacation deals:
4 Nights FREE at the All Inclusive Hyatt Zilara in Cancun, Mexico
3 Round Trip Airline Tickets to Chicago for $33
New to FREE Flying? Start HERE!
I’m not an an affiliate of this vacation club. I do not receive compensation or kickbacks….I’m simply sharing because I personally LOVE it!
UPDATE: It has been bought to my attention that Armed Forces Vacation Club now requests that Veterans go through their sister site “Veterans Holidays”
Thank you for your service!

This sounds fantastic. Wish there was something like this available for members and veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces.

Thank you so much Serena!
After reading through several of your posts, I immediately started looking for ways to maximize what we are receiving on our reward and cash back credit cards. For instance, one of our credit cards offers 2% cash back in three different categories of our choice so I made sure that those three categories are on things we spend the most on.
