If I’m lucky enough to have you as a regular visitor to Serena on the GO you’ll soon learn I LOVE to travel with my best friend! In fact, our annual trips are some of my most treasured memories! The problem is, my best friend and I don’t live in the same state (She’s in Washington, I’m in Idaho), so, this year when we take our annual Cancun, Mexico trip (we’ll be staying at the All Inclusive Hyatt Zilara for FREE) I’ll fly to and from Seattle so her and I can take the flight to and home from Cancun together!

Before her and I fly to Cancun from Seattle I need to get myself from Boise to Seattle, and vice versa. To do this I booked a one way ticket for just 5k miles directly through Alaska Airlines!

When I booked free tickets to Maui, Hawaii and Cancun, Mexico I used “hacking”, which is maneuvering award bookings between airline partners, however, this award seat was a straight forward reservation. I used the Alaska Airlines website to book directly through the airline.

Although this wasn’t a super impressive savings like 3 round trip tickets to Maui, Hawaii for $33, it still allows me flexibility in my travel schedule without breaking the bank!

Now, when she and I find our flights TO Cancun I’ll book a a ticket TO Seattle the same way!
