It wasn’t until I started actively following other bloggers (via Pinterest) that I learned it is absolutely possible to earn an income while writing and doing what we love.  Once I learned this, my new goal became earning enough income that I could quit my day job for the freedom to USE the travel miles and points I’ve banked.  Currently, I’m sitting on enough miles and points to travel the world, but not enough vacation time accrued to do it.  What a conundrum, eh!

I’m determined to leave my $80k+ career behind for a life of happiness and travel, while blogging!

What is Affiliate Marketing?

Simply put, affiliate marketing is earning money by promoting and linking readers to other people or companies’ products and services. (for example, if you start a blog and use BlueHost, Board Booster, or ConvertKit like I do, I’d get a small commission for you going through those links….yep, I just “affiliate marketed” you!).  Almost all businesses, products, stores, hotels, etc. offer an affiliate commission for promoting their item, product or service.

Companies love this way of promoting their products & services because they only have to pay a commission to their “affiliate” when they make money. In other words, they aren’t wasting expensive advertising bucks to not have any “conversions”.

Is this limited to only bloggers?

No! Anyone with an online presence can use affiliate marketing to earn an income.  Social media platforms, websites, e-mails, podcasts and videos are all ways of sharing affiliate links with readers and gaining potential income.

Why, IMO, is Michelle’s Course better than the free courses or tutorials offered online?

Sure do. This course is pricey at $197, especially for a new blogger not even making money yet. I really contemplated if this was a smart buy for me, and I’m so glad I ultimately made the right move to invest in it.  I had this some mind conflict when I paid for my 1^st blogging conference, but I knew in my heart that investing in my business was the only way it would operate like a business.
